The newly appointed Governor of Maharashtra CP Radhakrishnan took oath as Governor. Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay of the Bombay High Court administered the oath to him in a ceremony held at the Durbar Hall at Raj Bhavan on the 31st of July 2024.

Governor's wife Mrs. Sumathi R., Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar, Assembly Speaker Adv.Rahul Narvekar, Cabinet Member, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani, Additional Chief Secretary and Chief Etiquette Officer Manisha Mhaiskar, Additional Chief Secretary of various Departments, Principal Secretary, Secretary, Governor Shri. Radhakrishnan's family members were also present on this occasion.

In the beginning, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik read out the order of President Draupadi Murmu regarding the appointment of the Governor. After the oath ceremony, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar greeted the Governor.
Governor of Maharashtra C.P. A brief introduction to Radhakrishnan

Mr. C. P. Radhakrishnan d. He took oath as the Governor of Maharashtra on 31 July 2024. Before being appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra, he was the Governor of Jharkhand. During his tenure as Governor, he also held additional charge as Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
Mr. Radhakrishnan has been a well-known figure in Tamil Nadu politics and public life for four decades. He was born on 4 May 1957 in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu and graduated in Business Administration. He was first elected to the Lok Sabha from Coimbatore in 1998. Then in 1999, he was again elected to the Lok Sabha from there
During his five-year tenure as an MP, he chaired the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Textiles. He was also a member of the Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises (PSU) and the Parliamentary Advisory Committee on Finance. He was also a member of the Parliamentary Special Committee that investigated the Stock Exchange Scam.
In the year 2004, Mr. Radhakrishnan addressed the United Nations General Assembly as a member of the Parliamentary delegation. He was also a member of the first Indian parliamentary delegation to visit Taiwan.
In the year 2016 Mr. Radhakrishnan was appointed as the President of Choir Board, Kochi. He held this position for four years. Under his leadership, coir exports in the country reached an all-time high of Rs 2532 crore.
On 18th February 2023 Shri. Radhakrishnan was appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand. Within his first four months, he visited all 24 districts of Jharkhand and interacted with citizens and district administrative officials. During his tenure as Governor, he also held the additional charge of Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry for some time.
A great athlete, Radhakrishnan was a college champion in table tennis as well as a long-distance runner. He is interested in cricket and volleyball.
Mr. Radhakrishnan has visited America, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Holland, Turkey, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Visited Japan.
